Information Centers (PTIC):
Understanding
Special Education and Lay Advocacy Trainings
Parent Training and
Information Centers are a federally funded program through the US Dept. of
Education, Office of Special Education Programs.
The program is charged with providing IDEA Training, Technical Assistance,
Information and Referral, and Limited Educational Advocacy to parents and
professionals. A priority is
addressing the issues of overrepresentation of minorities in Special
Education and reaching underserved populations.
There are three levels of service required by
each holder of a PTIC grant:
