I am wife to Michael and mother of two prematurely born children, Jimbo and Emily.  Jimbo was born 5 1/2 weeks early on January 25, 1993, but escaped all complications.  Emily was born 10 weeks prematurely on January 19, 1995, and has cerebral palsy, cortical vision impairment, and mild mental retardation. I created and published a newsletter for  families raising prematurely born children for five years.  I have since became an active advocate in my community working to help families of individuals with special needs.
