Business Manager I am originally from Watertown, New York. I moved to the Adirondacks in 1972 and have been here ever since. I enjoy exercising, hiking, canoeing, x-country skiing, and being an Adirondack Lawn Chair Lady (we have to do something to get through the long, cold winters in the North Country!) I married Ed in 2002. He works as a Code Enforcement Officer for 3 Towns in the Adirondack Region. His job can be quite stressful, but he has a marvelous sense of humor and manages to keep things in perspective. I have a wonderful son, Christopher Liam, who was born in 1979. He was 10 months old when he was exposed to meningitis. As a result of this, he has a profound hearing loss. Not wanting to be different from his peers, he adapted to his situation by careful listening and reading lips. He is exceptionally bright and very artistically talented. He currently works as a landscape foreman in Arizona and is engaged to be married. I worked as an accounts receivable supervisor for a management company for 27 years prior to coming to Parent to Parent. My current position with Parent to Parent is Business Manager, and I wear many hats mostly of a financial nature. My job is very rewarding and was a refreshing change from the corporate world I had been exposed to for so many years. I have learned so much from our staff and from dedicated parents of children with disabilities. When I receive a call from a parent, I listen carefully to their story and make sure that I have obtained sufficient information to get them the help they are seeking. My hope for the future of Parent to Parent of NYS is that parents and professionals will put us on the top of their lists as a valuable resource in helping individuals of all ages with special needs.
